Creating a successful website entails more than just having good information. It’s important for it to be visually appealing.
Stay Focused
You have a message you want to convey to your customers, so make sure you stick to that message. If your website doesn’t have a specific purpose there won’t be a reason for anyone to come back and track that record using KISSinsights tools.
Utilize White Space.
The term white space refers to areas that are not being used, and not necessarily to background color. When you give your design plenty of white space, it allows it to breathe and makes it easier to navigate through the page.
Tighten up Your Copy
Make sure you spell check all your text before publishing. A misspelled word or wrong punctuation can detract from your message and make you look like you don’t know what you’re doing. Be direct with your words, and make your text easy to read.
Keep Your Overall Design Clean
You want to make sure that your website isn’t too busy and that everything’s easy to find. Adding graphics and photos is okay, but use high quality images that are relevant to your message. Use a color palette that complements your logo, and choose fonts that are easy to read.
Keep the Look of Your Site Consistent
It doesn’t matter if your website has two pages or two hundred, you want the look to remain the same. Choose a layout that works for you, then repeat it on each page. You’ll be able to swap out the text and images as needed, but still maintain the same feel throughout your entire site.
Don’t forget some of the basics. You want to have several points of entry on your homepage, something that will draw your customer in to your content and spend time reading and traveling through your site. And make sure to include contact information such as a phone number, email address, and the physical address of your company.
